The technological process permits the company to utilize any paint types and satisfy the various requests of its clients.

The choice of paint-and-lacquer coatings to be used depends on the type of cargoes transported, external environment conditions, and the client's needs. Also, the company fulfills orders related to preparation of gas tank cars for transporting pressurized fluids. SFAT-Ryazan has an experience in dealing with a wide range of paint-and-lacquer coatings: from regular enamels to high-durability epoxy-based paints that retain their color and resistance to aggressive environments for a long time. If necessary, while applying conversion technologies, the company uses paints with high zinc content, which enhances anticorrosion properties of coatings.

For the painting of rail cars carrying food products, our specialists use special paints.

The company executes all types of maintenance operations: running repair, annual scheduled repair, and overhaul. Production resources of the company permit it to carry out these operations up to high standards. Technical facilities of SFAT-Ryazan include: rail car repair shop, painting shop, assembly shop, as well as a cleaning plant. The new wheel-and-roller shop makes it possible to turn wheels of any rail cars. Moreover, the company is licensed to assemble new tank cars. The number of tank cars already produced amounts to 2,000.

For tank car cleaning, we use a special technology developed by the company specialists in cooperation with scientists of the Russian Federation Rail Transportation Research and Development Institute. According to this technology, sodium carbonate is used, which is less aggressive than the normally used sodium hydrate. This allows us to preserve the existing paint-and-lacquer coatings of rail cars.

The exceptional quality of cleaning is made possible through the use of the high temperatures and pressure of the cleaning fluid. For removing heavy contaminations (for example, bitumen), a very high pressure (200 atmospheres) is applied.

In compliance with the requirements of environmental protection standards, we make use of closed cycle cleaning.

Shot-blast cleaning (PREPARATION) of surfaces to be painted with the use of robotics technology.

Painting in the electrostatic field reduces paint consumption and ensures thin, even, and durable coating. The same technology is used for painting elite automobiles. Heat drying.

The SFAT-Ryazan production base allows the company to provide a complex of services. Such operations as rail car cleaning, maintenance, and painting take place in one locality, which significantly reduces the total cost of works. Strict meeting of deadlines and high quality of services provided is evidenced by the longstanding cooperation with the largest oil companies in the country. At the client's request, the company may provide complete information on each rail car, including numbers of all main parts and units.

• Internal painting of tank cars for carrying pure materials (for example, foodstuffs) and application of internal corrosion-resistant coatings (aluminizing). Clients: RZD (tank cars and mineral-carrying cars for bulk materials) and Grodno-Azot (mineral-carrying cars for very aggressive fertilizers). For mineral-carrying cars, internal and external epoxy coatings are used.
• Railway passenger-car external painting for RZD.

Since 1999, the company has been dealing with motor tank car painting. Its main clients are Ryazannefteproduct and other private companies.

SFAT-Ryazan is the only company in the region dealing with the removal of light and viscous oil products (bitumen included) from tank cars and tanks. After treatment, tank cars can be used for carrying light petrochemicals such as gasoline and aircraft fuel.

The company receives oil residues for recovery: petroleum oils, contaminated gasoline, etc. Residues are burned up and tank cars then undergo a high degree of cleaning.

SFAT-Ryazan deals with metalwork painting (erection trusses, metal pipe columns, etc.) with stable dyes, with the service durability being 2 to 10 years, depending on the client's request and aggressiveness of the working environment.
